SLGF Marketing Director and Co-Founder Jones Algae-Cohn says he is most excited about how genuine the experience of being at the SLGF. 🤲
“Everyone here comes from all parts of the East Side to share in a community of commerce and you just don’t get that anywhere else.” ☀️
A former produce manager at Erewhon who found his life “too commercial,” Algae-Cohn comes from a background of designing underground punk rock posters. “I still use MacWrite for my show posters, though now we direct a team of highly trained unpaid interns to do everything, just cause of my schedule.” 😌
This weekend you can find Algae-Cohn enjoying a Americano-Nativino from Bristo, one of our 13 coffee partners, or trying on extraordinarily wide-brimmed hats from almost every other seller. 🎩

🔹 This weekend catch scent artist 𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐅 and her 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘺: “For when you have to hang out with your friends who have kids. Or your nieces or nephews. Or at a restaurant with children.”😒
”It’s a mix of lemon juice, lavender oils, and serrano chilies in a very portable mister. I developed it after a child got chunky peanut butter on my jeans.”😉
“I despise children.”😏🔹

🔻It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the banishment of co-founder James McKenner from the SLGF Community. It recently came to our attention that James uses a chlorine process on his “all naturally dyed” linen napkins under the brand 𝘋𝘶𝘴𝘵&𝘡𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘺. 😞
🔻During our investigation, we further discovered that McKenner was selling his wares to Target under the brand 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘻𝘺. 🤭
🔻The SLGF Special Counsel undertook the investigation based on a dozen anonymous tips from brave whistleblowers (coincidentally, the SLGF Whistle Band will be performing this weekend at 12pm at the Entry Plaza right next to the ticket booth) 🎪

“People see this orange skinned couple, and you can see it on their faces: ‘whoa, these people are super healthy’,” says Kerri Shawbrad, co-founder of Echo Park’s newest spicery TUMZ, with their signature and only product of exquisite fresh turmeric with all of it’s flavor and health benefits. 🔶
TUMZ sources their turmeric from a widows commune in Konta, India. “My male partner and I have a cup of turmeric everyday, just by itself,” says Shawbrad, “My blood is orange, vibrant, thin, and delicious.” 🔸

⬛️ After departing from Silver Lake’s Dust & Scatter last year in bitter dispute 😤, Michael Baker Baque has opened his new boutique *Fante* featuring small batch home goods meant to provide a pop of design to every corner of your house (and we mean house because they just don’t look right in an apartment with rising rents 🙄)
“It is technically a thirty pound wedge of overstock terrazzo that I got. But it’s actually a vibe-propagator that will stop anyone at the door and have them saying ‘well now I don’t know what to think.’” 🤔
Come see Baker Baque and Fante in the New Designers Row at the SLGF this weekend! 😌

We will be having the geniuses from failed restaurant 🖕Fuck Your Worries🖕 serving up their latest culinary take on precolonial Mexican Cuisine.🥘 ”We are so fucking humbled by other’s history,” say FYW head chef, founder, and perennial fuck-up Max Hurley Winowski, “So we are doing a 120-day sprouted chia seed tamale with a turmeric ash stew reduction glaze. It’s $64, but really that’s at a loss because of how important the food is. There is nothing more important than this food we are making.” ☺️ Check out Fuck Your Worries in SLGF’s Culinary Alley this weekend. ✌️
